iTunes Great Buy: Live – Throwing Copper

Browsing through iTunes saw that Live had a new album out, Songs from Black Mountain. While I was wholly unimpressed by this new attempt, Live has lost their edge. I checked out what else was available. Only to find their best album Throwing Copper for only 5.99. I have always felt that this is one of the best put together albums I have listen to. So, if you don’t yet have it in your collection check it out. Also, check out Awake: Best of Live (Acoustic) – EP

Left Right, & Center Commentary: Immigration, Hayden, Chavez and Venezuela, Libya

Round one immigration goes to Robert Scheer. While Tony and Bob pretty much agreed that the president was moving in the right direction. Their reasoning was a little different. I myself sit in the more liberal camp on this one. I am in favor of some kind of guest worker program and working toward citizenship. This cannot happen though without securing the border otherwise the amount illegal aliens will go even higher. Round two neither really had much to say about Hayden but I’ll give this one to Tony just because he was able to stay away from the exaggerations. Round three is a tie both made their point. One there is nothing wrong with a poorer country nationalizing its resources but on the other hand someone as unstable as Chavez while helping in the short term in the long run will hold Venezuela back just as Castro has with Cuba or any other leader that has too much power. Libya a non story Muammar is continuing to take the right steps toward being welcomed back into the world stage. Now he just needs to work toward elections. Bob use this bring old issues about Pakistan which adds little to the discussion. Interesting topic about Turkey and the turmoil there. Wonder how much of that is a product of the unrest in Iraq. Also, wonder if Matt Miller’s technology wows have anything to do with a certain Microsoft product.

iTunes Best Free Beats of ’06 Vol. 1

The begin of this year has been a bit disappointing with the free music from iTunes. This the first of my albums that I wasn’t able to fill with songs that I deemed worthy. Even still I think I was able to but together a nicely balanced compilation. Highlighted by Jace Everett’s Bad Things, Hard-FI’s Cash Machine, & Zack Hexum’s How Many Times.

1. Bad Things / Jace Everett
2. Hell or High Water / Tinsley Ellis
3. Tú y Yo / Haydee Milanes
4. Angelina / Earl Klugh
5. Burnin’ / Rahsaan Patterson
6. Cash Machine / Hard-FI
7. Ooh La La / Goldfrapp
8. Trains to Brazil / Guillemots
9. Love Me Like You / The Magic Numbers
10. How Many Times / Zack Hexum
11. More Shine / Si*Se
12. Grace (Album Version) / Phil Wickham
